Seminars
Authorization - Consent of instructor courses means just that. You need to get in touch with the Professor who is teaching the course and obtain permission to register.

Obtain an authorization form from the Professor or download - Course Authorization Form (pdf). Fill out the form completely and have it signed. Return it to your Professor or bring the signed form to 3211 Humanities. Follow the registration information on the form and be sure to register online for the seminar just as you would for a lecture course.

Changes.........Late Registration........Incompletes
"I want to make a credit change or section change but I'm afraid I may lose my spot while I try to make changes in a course that is full and closed..."
CHANGING SECTION & CREDITS - do not drop the course to make changes.
For Spring 2008 you can add a class through February 1st. February 2nd - March 28th students must obtain permission from the professor and turn in a completed Course Authorization Form (pdf) to 3211 Humanities for processing. Once completed you will need to register. March 29th - May 9th students must complete a Course Change Form (pdf) and submit it to Letters in Science Deans (Rm. 70 Bascom).
You can use the online registration to “edit” the course sections or change the number of credits. For Spring 2008 section changes may be made until February 1st. Credit changes can be made through February 15th online or after that date by completing Course Change Form (pdf) turned in at the Letters and Science office, (Rm. 70 Bascom).
LATE REGISTRATION: It's a hassle!!!
1. The student obtains a letter (or form in room 3211) from the Professor, granting permission to enter the course with the following information:
a. Valid reason for adding the course after the add deadline has expired.
b. Course number, section number and signature of Professor and TA if it has a discussion.
c. Student name, ID#, and phone number/E-mail address
2. The student brings the letter to 3211 Humanities for computer entry.
3. The student then must request permission from an L&S Dean, 70 Bascom Hall, to add the course.
4. After above permission steps have been met, the student must register for the course online.
VERIFY YOUR REGISTRATION -- LOOK AT A LIST OF YOUR COURSES AND CREDITS ON YOUR CLASS SCHEDULE.
INCOMPLETES – What is an Incomplete? How does it affect my record? See information in timetable page 9.
Closed Courses
"I think I can register for a closed because somebody said I was on a waiting list..."
CLOSED COURSES
The History Department does not have waiting lists for courses that are full. Continue to look at the online timetable daily, hourly, or by the minute. Also try showing up for the first day of class. Each Professor has a policy regarding the enrollment caps used for a course. By all means feel free to plead your case - sometimes you may be given permission to enroll in a course that has already met its registration limit. Courses with sections have very stringent caps. Your only chance of getting in is if another student drops.
