  • History 600 Information

The complete History 600 Spring 2010 Seminar List is now available.

How Do I Obtain Authorization to Take History 600? Simply review the list of seminars posted online, make a choice, and then contact the professor using the method they have indicated next to their Hist 600 topic description (some may require you to complete a brief questionnaire, others may want to meet with you in-person).  Once a professor has accepted you into their seminar, they will contact the History Advising Team who will then authorize you to register (on or after your scheduled registration time).  Unlike in previous semesters you will NOT NEED TO COMPLETE A COURSE AUTHORIZATION FORM.  Authorizations will be made directly by your professor.   Once authorized, Amy Phillips, Undergraduate Program Assistant, will email you a 5-digit Hist 600 enrollment number to use during registration. You will begin receiving registration codes on or after November 6th.  You MUST REGISTER ONLINE at your designated registration time and complete your registration no later than the date Amy indicates in her email, otherwise you will be unable to enroll in the class!

**Please note that seminars fill up quickly, so choose a 600 seminar and contact the professor as soon as possible, especially if you are graduating in May or August 2010.

As sections close, this information will be posted on the History Undergraduate website (after November 6) -- the timetable is not an accurate source of information for space availability.  Priority will be given to graduating seniors.

History 600 Authorization process for students currently studying abroad:
Essentially this process is the same as above, however, you will need to contact your perspective professor electronically.  Please let them know you are currently studying abroad and unavailable to meet face-to-face.  If you run into any problems please contact the History Advising Office for assistance.
